NSWA Overview

We Social Workers of Nigerian ancestry, being witnesses to the numerous social problems that Nigerian immigrants confront in the United States, formed the Association of Nigerian Social Workers (ANSW) in the year 2000. We are determined to harness our intellectual, professional and material resources to improve the lives of the powerless, the infirm and the underprivileged amongst us. We are also committed to truth, justice, equity, equality and the promotion of human happiness. We stoutly believe that it is possible to build a united, progressive and strong Nigerian community in the United States of America. We also believe irrevocably that our people can participate actively in the social, political, economic and educational spheres of life in the United States without losing their cultural identity and heritage.
